ADDING ACCESSORIES TO YOUR RAVE LOOK
Accessorizing is hard. Even when It comes to average, everyday looks, finding the perfect necklace, belt or really anything can become a pretty tricky guessing game. When I first started putting together festival looks, I would always struggle to find accessories to take it from a look to a LOOK. The hardest thing about dressing for a festival is that you need to find the right mix of style and function. Even if you aren’t big into dancing aggressively, you will still need to be able to walk, and hell if a real banger starts playing, don’t you want to have the option to dance without stuff getting in the way?
After some experimentation, I began to realize what was going to work for me and what wasn’t. I realized that necklaces were a great way to tie a look together, but that if I wanted to jump around, I would need something that wasn’t smacking me in the face. Since decking myself out in necklaces to add interest to my outfits, I began experimenting with harnesses. I realized that a good harness could make any look badass, without compromising on mobility. Practicality also leads me to start incorporating stylish sunglasses into my outfits for daytime festivals. Instead of wearing shitty pairs, I started trying to match sunglasses to my outfits to again marry functionality and style. The final piece was when I started to mix up my bags to compliment my outfits. Instead of some random fanny pack, I color coordinated or even used a bag as a centerpiece of my outfit. The basic point I am trying to make is that accessorizing for festivals is a little tricky, but the minute you start thinking in terms of functionality and basics, the easier it becomes to elevate your rave look with a few carefully chosen pieces.
In the rest of this post, I have highlighted a few of my favorite accessories that I think everyone should be adding to their festival wardrobe. I have tried to stick to neutrals and basic colors so that you can add it to your festival outfit regardless of the style and still wow.
CHOKERS
QUICK TO CUT BLADE CHOKER $15.00
My favorite thing about this choker is that it is simple while still staying incredibly badass. The razor details give it a punk edge, but it is still elegant enough that you don’t have to worry about your mother freaking out if she sees a picture of you wearing it on Instagram. I also love the silver. Silver is, in my opinion, a better choice than gold when it comes to festival jewelry just because It is guaranteed to look great with any color.

OBSIDIAN NIGHT O-RING CHOKER $15.00
Every raver needs a good old o-ring choker. I don’t care who you are; you need one. This black leather and silver chain one on dolls kill is the perfect mix of subtle and dominatrix sexy. I mean, it’s going to be impossible not to feel like a badass babe wearing this baby.

HARD TO SHAKE CHAIN NECKLACE $20.00 $14.00
This necklace is another favorite of mine. The silver chain link is elegant, but the chunky loops keep it looking badass. It is going to go with any color of the rainbow and can transform a solid bodysuit into something a little more cool girl.

PLASTIC BINKY CHOKER $18.00
Yes, I know the pacifier thing is a little weird, but a little weird can be super fun sometimes. This all black pinky choker lets you have your homage to the classics while still staying 100 percent in the future. If the neutral black isn’t really your vibe, then check out The Candy Kid's’ website where they carry a few lighter options, but honestly, it never hurts to stick with black.

HARNESSES
JAWBREAKER HARNESS SET $45.00
Harnesses are the height of cool. Though they may get some raised eyebrows for the fetish connotations, they are a great way to give an otherwise plain outfit some umph. I love the studded details on this one in particular as a way to give some new definitions to your figure and Harden up a softer look.

FETISH FANTASY O-RING HARNESS $18.00
This one is as plain and simple as it gets when it comes to a harness. If you like the idea but aren’t ready to commit to some of the more aggressive options, this is a great place to start. Another thing it has going for it is that is isn’t going to be incredibly challenging to figure out. As someone who has struggled to figure out what limb goes where with a hyper-complicated harness, I can’t express how nice that simplicity is.

BAGS
SPACE STASH BELT BAG $22.40
I featured the lime green version of this bag on the “slime green edit,” but this clear bag has completely stolen my heart. Its completely neutral so it will go with any outfit that you throw at it, and if that wasn’t enough the chain details are to die for.

FUTURISTIC MYSTIC HOLOGRAM HOLSTER VEST $70.00
This one is a little on the pricey side but, come on. Look at it. It’s amazing. The white and silver details make it a perfect neutral piece, and it is also insane enough to bring life to even the most boring of outfits. The holster design means you can easily carry all of your things without worrying about trying to cram your stuff into a tiny fanny pack.
