WHY BIKE SHORTS SHOULD BE YOUR GO TO FESTY BOTTOMS

Bike shorts are probably the best thing to ever happen to festival fashion. It may be a bold claim but I one hundred percent stand by it. They are basically leggings’ cousin that no one paid attention to until they had a major glow up a few years ago. You get all the comfy benefits of wearing leggings while still showing off some skin and if that wasn’t enough, you basically get the bodycon look that you would get with a tight skirt or dress, but with way more mobility (which is a huge plus if you like to shuffle).

Bike shorts are the lazy girls answer to looking trendy without being uncomfortable. They look great with a matching bikini or crop top, or even an oversize t-shirt. The effortless style and comfy fit will have you looking like a festival fashionista without needing to worry about a million different components.

Style isn’t the only thing that should have you reaching for a pair the next time you go shopping. I don’t know if you have ever worn bikini bottoms to a festival, but if you haven’t let me tell you something, if you sit down you are either going to wind up with dust in some truly concerning places or with a million bug bites on your butt. It’s the price we pay for looking cute, but with a pair of bike shorts you can still show off some skin without worrying about getting dust in places you’d rather not have them in.

Another great thing about bike shorts is that if you are someone who is just easing into raving, they make a great starter piece. If you aren’t entirely comfortable walking around in pasties and a thong yet, bike shorts let you show off some skin as well as your figure without having everything out in the open. They are also often made from athletic fabric so you won’t need to worry about being uncomfortable while you dance or walk around.

As if all of that weren’t enough, cycling shorts are also a fantastic basic piece to have. By ‘basic’ I mean that they are something you can use in a range of outfits, from going to a rave, to going to pick up some groceries. This is especially true if you get a neutral color like black or nude. However, if you want to step it up a notch brand like List Label and I AM GIA sell bedazzled bike shorts with cut-outs and buckles.

I hope I have given you enough reasons to persuade you to pick up a pair of cycling shorts the next time you start planning a festival outfit.
