THE BATHROOM SITCH'

The bathroom situation at most events (especially outdoor ones) can be kind of rough. It really doesn’t matter how nice the venue is. If there are ports potties and thousands of people using them, after a certain point in the evening it’s going to get kind of nasty (sorry, but it’s true).

So, with that in mind here is a little list of things you can do to try and make it not the worst experience ever when you are finally forced to hit the porta potties at your next event.

  1. Wet Wipes

Yeah it feels a little silly bringing in a pack of wet wipes, especially if you need to cram them into your little backpack or maybe one of the free pockets on your Camelbak, but it will be beyond worth it when the location’s little pump sinks are out of water, and you need to wash your hands.

  2. Tissue Packets

Just a heads up, they may run out of toilet paper, but if you don’t want that to be a problem for you, then I would suggest bringing a sealed pack of tissues (just one of the little travel ones you can buy at CVS). Just make sure to stick a pack of them into your Camelbak, backpack, or fanny pack before you head out.

  3. Hand Sanitizer

Yeah, if things get really desperate you can use some of the water from your pack to wash your hands, but do you really want to play with the germs of thousands of strangers? I don’t. Just make sure it’s sealed and try and keep it as small as possible. I would check the festival guidelines to make sure it's not explicitly prohibited (you'll probably be fine and most places).

So that’s it! Yeah, kind of a short guide but the more you know the better! Don’t let your night be derailed because the event ran out of toilet paper or because you couldn’t wash your hands afterwards.
